Front-line workers’ kids need your help!

As part of our support of local businesses in the community, the Rotary Club of Snoqualmie Valley is proud to support a unique local establishment – Montessori Forest School (MFS). The school is offering a Summer Camp for children – your donations will help them offer increased discounts to front line worker’s kids.

Through 6 foot social distancing “superhero bubbles”, CDC guided hand washing and sanitation, 501(c)3 non-profit, Montessori Forest School, follows the WA state call for Preschool’s to stay open during these unprecedented times. Fully outdoors in the sunlight and fresh air (a bust for germs), making them the healthiest and most affordable preschool in the area, Montessori Forest School chose to stay open for the children of our front line workers – the fires fighters, nurses and parents of the most vulnerable. And they need our help to stay open and keep helping.

They worked through Spring Break and brought our single mothers food deliveries and transport for the children to and from school. Just before COVID-19, Mayor Larson allocated Montessori Forest School a dedicated part of the parks at Centennial Fields and Fisher Creek, as they are part of the Outdoors Preschool Pilot Program through the DCYF (Department of Children, Youth & Families) – one of ten outdoor preschools pioneering recognition as a licensed outdoors program.

Rain or shine, dressed for success, our Montessori Teachers guide the children’s self-emergence, independence and love of green spaces. The S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math & Music /drum circles) and multi-lingual language curriculum is taught using Montessori materials, lesson plans and child observation. The Native American curriculum is incorporated into cultural and nature awareness, respect of the plants, creatures and people who have been here “Since Time Immemorial”. Montessori Forest School is a friend of the Snoqualmie Tribe.

“Emotional, social and academic growth is play-led and child-led as we follow the individuals’ interests, bringing balance to their full development, immersing them in every topic through their unique style of learning. Our mission as Superheroes for Families is to deliver each child in our care the gift of a gleefully muddy childhood – one that brings them back to nature and being stewards of the earth.” – CEO and President, Shaijah Wolf.

Now is the time we need to help our Montessori Forest School cover Teacher salaries and scholarships to front-line workers’ kids. Some are already paid up with preschools that have chosen to close. They need preschool for their kids so they can go to work. But they can’t make more tuition payments to come to Montessori Forest School, though the most affordable and healthiest option, so they can go to work knowing their kids are safe, nurtured and cared for. Take the opportunity to make a pledge for front-line workers’ kids, today. Donate to Montessori Forest School. Help give the gift of a front-line workers’ ability to get to work by helping their kids’ tuition needs now.
