Students of the Quarter 03/12/2020
Every quarter, the Rotary Club of Snoqualmie Valley recognizes four outstanding students from our school district. Here are the outstanding students of this quarter:
Analise Chiu
Nominated by Hannah Mowry
Analise embodies the Rotary motto of “service above self”. Analise acts in many servant leadership roles in our band program. She is a trumpet section leader for our entire band program (overseeing approx. 22 students) and has revolutionized the responsibilities of that role. For example, she set up an interest form for students in classes other than her own, allowing them to request an after school sectional that she would attend and facilitate. She also performs in our top jazz ensemble, and as a senior, helps manage and organize the success of the trumpet section. She does not hesitate to ask what she can do to help, and never asks for anything in return. In the fall, Analise stayed after every single football game and helped clean the entire grandstand, not just the band section. Analise is also a National Merit Scholar Finalist and a dedicated academic, having taken countless AP classes while maintaining an admirable GPA. She often stays late in the band room working on her homework for classes outside of music. I someday hope to be as much of an exemplary leader as Analise.
* Analise is taking 6 AP classes
Alex Constantin
Nominated by Joe Dockery
Alex has worked extremely hard to balance the theater, community service and a rigorous academic schedule. This imaginative young woman has challenged herself with our Advanced Placement courses and has found success in our Running Start program at Bellevue College. Alex has an amazing work ethic as is evident from her over 500 hours of community service!
As the Key Club treasurer and Camerata Choir secretary, Alex has demonstrated her strong leadership skills by effectively working with her peers, school administrators and outside agencies. She is also one of the most thoughtful and kind individuals I have had the pleasure of working with.
One of the things that I admire most about Alex is her creativity and imagination. The theater has been a huge part of Alex’s life and the area that she has really excelled, earning numerous awards and collaborating on a new musical at the local Village Theater. She has consistently demonstrated her determination to push herself out of her comfort zone and grow through these types of experiences.
* Alex is taking 4 AP classes
